Isaac
10 years old, suffers with sickle-cell anemia, a painful and debilitating genetic disease, but he is a real trooper. A recent flare-up of his sickle-cell sent him to the hospital for several days before Easter for one of his frequent blood transfusions. In spite of the bad prognosis (most African children with sickle cell die before their 16th birthday), Isaac is a cheerful little guy who is always interested when he sees others working on their homework, and just wants to go to school like other kids. He dreams of being a doctor some day.
