The Cross Family is thankful for the outpouring of support and love they have received as they are grieving the loss of Rick and Will's brother, Arty this September. In memory of Arty and their other brother, Branson, Rick and Will have begun a scholarship fund. They are asking in lieu of flowers for you to consider making a tax-deductible donation instead. Simply click on the "donate" button below. Thank you!

The ABC Hope Scholarship fund is a scholarship in memory of Arthur and Branson Clark, graduates of Battle Mountain High School.  This annual scholarship will be awarded to an individual graduating from BMHS to aid in the furthering of education.

The award was created to honor Arthur Vincent Clark IV, who through perseverance battled kidney failure for 14 years before passing away on September 17, 2011 at the age of 35.  Arthur’s strength of mind and heart was one of his many characteristics that lead him through life including an amazing wrestling career.  Arthur an All-American took 4 State Wrestling Championships earning him a full ride scholarship to Lassen Community College and later Western Colorado State University.  If you met Arty on the wrestling mat or sat with him having coffee you would see those competitive quality’s that kept him alive for so many years.

The award also honors Arthur’s younger brother Branson Clark, whose life was taken tragically on February 8, 1998 at the age of 20.  In memory of Branson this award will help advance education and bless many for years to come by enhancing the quality of life for those who receive it.  Branson lived life abundantly, full of joy and love and never wasted an opportunity to live it to its fullest.  Branson’s contagious smile will live on through this award.

The ABC Hope Scholarship will carry on the legacy and qualities of these to cherished brother through the recipients for years to come.  The Clark brothers changed so many lives and will continue to do so for another life time not only through the award but through the qualities and standards met through the application process.

OUR VISION

Our vision is to help others grow into men and women of character and integrity. Whether it is to come along side them and offer the basic necessities to survive, or to provide hope to people lost in today's immoral culture; we want to make a difference - one person at a time. In faith, we will encourage them to deepen their relationship with the Lord. With integrity, we will challenge them to fulfill God's purpose for their lives. Through service we will teach them to become the leaders of their generation.

HOW WE BEGAN

Our team was started after a life changing trip to Africa in December of 2008 with Heavenly Hope Ministries. Since that trip I have found a renewed fire burning inside of me to help the children of Africa, as well as the children in my own community.  The street kids of Kampala, Uganda have changed me for good. While there, God opened my blinded eyes and stubborn ears and let the feelings of my heart pour out.  I was BROKEN with a sadness that will never leave me.  It is that same broken Spirit that spurs our team on and causes each of us to work diligently with the hope to change lives here and there!  I am grateful for this team and realize it can only be God who brings such a passion out of the people who have not seen what my eyes have seen or heard what my ears have heard.  My prayer is that each team member will have the opportunity to travel to Africa in the near future to be His hands and be His feet!

Our team is called Hands of Hope Missions, a division of the non-profit 501(c)3 organization Heavenly Hope Ministries.  Hands of Hope Missions will be His hands where ever we go. We will bring hope to all of Gods children including the ones God gave us.  Both the present and future generation’s faith will be inspired through Hands of Hope Missions.  Our children will carry the torch long after we are gone.  We will continue to reach out where ever we can locally with the goal in mind, “Build an Orphanage in Uganda!”  His hand print will be left behind where ever we go. May God lead Hands of Hope Missions wherever it is that we are to go, bringing His presence with us along the way.
